“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27)

Disappointment. Disappointment is the first thing that shows itself not only when troubles are near. It latches onto people on every suitable occasion. We do not want to be disappointed, but disappointment does not make appointments. It does not call, nor ask whenever it wants to ‘visit’. It does not knock, it just barges in.

Maybe you are disappointed of yourself, friends, people, relationships, career, or even God. Maybe you have been fighting one issue for a long time, or maybe you feel like it has stuck around for a bit longer than you expected. Maybe you see yourself locked in the same position as you were in last year. Maybe you feel like you are buried deep within thoughts and feelings, so that you cannot see the Hand reaching out towards you ready to pull you out from the abyss of disappointment.

Even if you feel like all the doors are being slammed into your face, even if you want to scream and shout, I call upon you to accept God’s invitation: “Come to Me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28).

I encourage you to accept Him in your life. He does not promise that it will be easy (Matthew 10:22), but He promises that He will be next to you: “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.” (Psalms 50:15)

My dears, it is very clear by know that disappointment comes under different types, and maybe sometimes we cannot detect it. Or sometimes even though we detect it, we still let ourselves get ravaged by disappointment. From now on, do not let yourself to be put down by other people, but entrust your life into God’s hands, even when you do not feel His presence.

Thank you. Whenever disappointment comes in, call upon Jesus and he will push it out. Thank you for these words
