Always and Forever

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” (Mark 13:31)

If there is anything we can be sure of in this world, it is that what God says is true. Jesus said that even the earth will eventually be no more, bur His words will continue to be as true as they ever had been.

As humans, we often change our minds as we navigate through our lives. As we mature in our thought processes, our point of view changes. Sometimes we reach an age where our reasoning has evolved to include different ways of seeing any particular issue. Perhaps it is that we learn more information than before and can make more informed choices with how we feel about things. This is how it works with God.

Our Lord has been consistent since before there were people on the earth. And because of His infinite wisdom, His Word will never change. Perhaps it would be wise for us to not trust in other people, who may well have an entirely new set of ideas later. Instead, let us invest all of our faith in the One whose Word will never change.

We can be assured, as Mark 13:32 shows us, that what God says will still be true tomorrow, next week, next year, and forever.
