The way you think

Don't be like the people of this world, but let God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to him.

After a bad accident between a car and a bicycle, the cyclist is rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The boy had no identification on him, and nobody knew who he was when he arrived at the A&E centre. When the doctor heard that this boy had no documents and nobody knows if he has insurance, he delayed in assessing the boys injuries. A further 10 minutes past before the doctor decided to go to check on the patient. To his horror, he finds out that the boy was his very own son.

We see around the world, 2 different mindsets: selfishness and love. We are all born with selfish desires: we learn to love ourselves first, and most of us remain at this stage. Selfish people can't think if their actions will influence others or not. As long as they are happy they don't really care what is going to happen to others around them.

Only God, who is love, is able to change our mindset from selfishness to love. When this happens we start to put others before ourselves, and this in itself will make our lives more fulfilled. If the doctor of our story would've known that his son is the one injured he would've run to save him.
