‘If God is for us, who can be against us?’

“For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Matthew 25:29-30)
I am sure most of us know very well the lesson behind ‘The parable of the talents’. Anyway, if you do not know it, I am going to take you through a brief presentation.
A master had to travel to a far country, and he called his own servants to deliver his own goods to them. To one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability. After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them. So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, the one who had received two talents gained two more talents, and the one who had received one talent went and dug it in the ground, pretending that he knew his lord is a hard man, reaping from where he has not sown, gathering from where he has not scattered seeds (Matthew 25: 14-30).
Now, I want us to focus on the latter one for a moment. How often do we behave like him? How often do we misinterpret God’s love? How often do we think that as long as we are good citizens and live our lives passively, everything is right where it should be? How often are we afraid to get out of our comfort zone? How often do we ‘trade’ our talents for a greater good? Do you want to be called “good and faithful servant” or do you prefer to be a “wicked and lazy servant” (Matthew 25:26)?
My dears, our good God and Creator gave us talents according to our own ability. Take a moment to reflect upon your talents. You may not have the same talents as your classmates, colleagues or friends, but that is what makes you so special in His eyes.
I am going to give you an example. I LOVE to sing, but I am far from being a great singer or even as skilled as my friend; and I know that sometimes I can be annoying with my singing. But, let me tell you something: I am going to be the happiest when we will go to Heaven because I am going to be able to sing praises to my amazing God day an night, and I know He will find no trouble in that!
If you are not sure about your talents, about what is the ‘special’ something that God has given you, kneel down in prayer and ask for God’s guidance. If you need more than that, if you feel hopeless and in despair I invite you to write down below in a comment any prayer requests that you have. Do not be afraid! I take this commitment for you that I am going to pray every single day, until God has shown you His will and even after. God listens to you! He cares for you! He is not like the last servant described his master, for “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32)
