Hello,

I do not know you, or probably I do. But even so, before these few minutes of devotion I encourage you to put your phone down and have a prayer. If you do not know how, take a Bible and go to Matthew 6:9-13 and I am sure God will guide you through.

I got baptised at the age of 12. I had a nice childhood, but to be honest I never had the closest and intimate relationship with God, until one day.

I was an excited and nervous fresher at uni. Everything was new and confusing for me, but I knew it was supposed to be great.

20th of September 2015, about 9.30 pm a friend texted me saying: “I will always be there for you”. I thought I am blessed to have such friends, and I know I am, but during the next few minutes I received a notification that dropped me on the floor and I could not stop crying. At the sweet age of 16 my dearest cousin passed away. She was fighting cancer for about a year, but she has “fought the good fight” (2 Timothy 4:7) and has finished the race. I never asked God why, but from that moment on I knew I want to go to Heaven. It is not because she passed away, it is because I have realised that there is nothing on this Earth that would ever make me truly happy and fulfilled as the love of God is, “and indeed, all is vanity and grasping for the wind” (Ecclesiastes 1:14).

You may be having other troubles or sorrows, fights or distresses but I want you to know that there is nothing that can “separate us from the love of God” (Romans 8:39) and there comes a day when He will wipe away every tear from your eyes. Do not let your heart be troubled, trust God. Trust that He is coming back to take us all to be with Him and our dearest ones in Heaven for eternity! Never lose hope, for He will nevertheless be coming back!

“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away” (Revelation 21:4)
